Do I have to be vaccinated to enter?

Yes. This campaign encourages all Métis Nation–Saskatchewan (MN–S) citizens to get vaccinated and help us end this pandemic! To be eligible to win a prize, you must have received a full course of a COVID-19 vaccine before the draw deadline dates.

How do I prove I’ve been vaccinated?

You can provide your vaccination card with your name and health card number, along with the date of your shots. If you no longer have this card you can access your eHealth records of vaccination.

What is the purpose of the This is Your Shot Campaign?

Vaccination is the best and fastest way to beat COVID-19 and help us return to the activities, gatherings, and community connections we love. We want to encourage everyone to get vaccinated and protect our community - while providing a fun incentive to do so!

I am already vaccinated - can I still enter?

If you’ve received a full course of a COVID-19 vaccine and are an MN–S citizen - then YES!
All citizens who are fully vaccinated by the draw deadlines are eligible to win. If you have only received one dose, visit an SHA vaccination clinic or a Saskatchewan pharmacy location for your second dose to become fully vaccinated, and therefore eligible to win. Deadline and Draw Dates are in the Rules and Regulations.

Can I still enter This is Your Shot if I cannot be immunized for medical or other reasons?

MN–S This is Your Shot draws are only open to those who are fully vaccinated with an SHA approved COVID-19 vaccine.

How do I enter the This is Your Shot draw?

Someone I know doesn’t have access to a computer. How can they enter?

We have people to help! Have them call our toll free line at 1-833-638-4775, and a staff member will help them fill out the website entry form. Our toll free line is open 7 AM - 7 PM, seven days a week.

I am under the age of 18, can I still enter the This is Your Shot draw?

We have dedicated youth prizes for those who are 12-17 years old as of November 24, 2021. Please see the Prizes page for more information on the prizes available!

What can I win?

How will I know if I won a prize?

MN–S will contact the winners to request proof of vaccination and residency within five business days of the draw date.

How are winners chosen?

MN–S has partnered with MNP LLP to provide a random, objective, and auditable process for selecting the winners. MNP LLP has Gaming Labs International certified software they will use to select a winner from our list of entrants.

If I win an Early Bird or Weekly prize, does that exclude me from winning a Grand Prize?

All entrants are eligible to win one Weekly, one Early Bird, one Scholarship (ages 12-30) and one Youth/Grand Prize.

Can I give my prize to someone else?

Prizes will be awarded to winners only, and MN–S cannot transfer them to anyone else.

When does the This is Your Shot campaign end?

The Early Bird draw will take place at noon on September 5, 2021, at the Batoche Métis Fall Festival. Your entry must be submitted by 5:00 PM on September 4, 2021. There are smaller weekly prizes that take place for 10 weeks starting September 17 and running until November 19, 2021. You must submit your entry by 5:00 PM two days before each weekly draw to be eligible. The entry period closes at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, for all Grand Prize and final Scholarship draws. 

I work for, or my parent/guardian/spouse/family member works for, one of the prize providers. Can I still win?

Métis Nation–Saskatchewan employees, representatives, and Elected Officials are excluded from the contest. All other Métis citizens, who otherwise meet the eligibility requirements, can win.

Why do I have to agree to release my name publicly if I win?

In order to claim their prize, all winners need to consent to the public announcement of their name and region. This is to protect the integrity of the draw and provide transparency to our citizens. When a winner’s name is announced publicly, it assures all members of our Nation that the prizes have been awarded and that our winners have come from all regions of Saskatchewan.

How can I be confident with the security and integrity of the draw?

The MN–S has several measures in place to ensure the integrity of the This is Your Shot campaign draws. Our partnership with MNP LLP allows us transparency and objectivity in the drawing of winning names. A Random Number Generator (RNG) uses numbers specific to our campaign to select an outcome randomly. The numbers used to select the winner will be randomly generated and assigned to all entrants when the entry form is completed. The RNG is not licensed out to the public. A member of MNP LLP will manage and operate the draw independently from the MN–S. The information provided to MNP LLP from the MN–S will be encrypted. In addition, all MN–S staff and elected of officials are ineligible to win. 

When will the This is Your Shot draws take place?

One Early Bird draw will take place at noon on September 5, 2021, for an iPhone package and an iPad package.

There are ten weekly draws of three $25,000 scholarships (ages 12-30), four gift cards and one chromebook, for a total of eight prizes to be won every week starting September 17 and running until November 19, 2021.

The Grand Prize draws will take place at the MN–S Métis Nation Legislative Assembly (MNLA) on November 26, 2021.

All winning names are subject to the verification of vaccination, residency status and citizenship with MN–S Registry. If a winner does not meet these requirements, another name will be drawn. 

I reside outside of Saskatchewan, Can I still enter?

No, MN–S This is Your Shot draws are for residents of Saskatchewan only.

Can I increase my chances of winning?

There is only one entry per person. Your entry ballot will be included in all draws that take place after your entry date. But, please encourage your friends and family members to enter and help us put an end to the pandemic!

I didn’t receive a confirmation email when I completed my entry. What can I do?

Every successful website entry will generate a confirmation email. If you did not receive an email, please call us at 1-833-638-4775 or send a message through the contact us portal on this website, and someone will look into the problem. 

What do you do with my information?

The information you provide to enter will only be used to conduct the draws and contact you if you are a winner. All of your information will be stored electronically, on a secure server, and not shared with third parties or used in any other way. Once all This is your Shot draws are complete and all the prizes have been claimed, all contact information will be permanently removed from all storage devices, servers and systems.

Can the toll-free line help me with citizenship questions?

Staff on the 1-833-638-4775 line are not Registry staff and cannot answer questions about your citizenship file. If you have a citizenship question, please contact MN–S Registry Department toll-free at 1-833-343-8391 or email info@mnsregistry.ca.

I’ve entered the contest and I have started an application for MN–S citizenship. Can I get an ‘in-progress’ letter?

No. The Registry does not issue ‘in-progress’ letters. There is an internal system to check the application status for those individuals entering the draw. You will not be asked to personally provide proof of application.

What happens if I haven’t applied with the Registry before entering the draw?

The Registry staff are working diligently to help all citizens register with MN–S. All This is Your Shot entrants must apply directly to the Citizenship Registry fourteen calendar days before the date of the draw to be eligible to win. I have registered with MN–S multiple times in the past. Why do I have to do it again? Where have all my documents gone?

Over the decades, MN–S has gone through different iterations before evolving into its current governmental structure. MN–S Provincial Citizenship Registry was created in 2009. The Registry only holds information on active files that have been submitted directly to the Provincial Registry office since 2009.

My child has a youth certificate and doesn’t have a number. Can they still enter? 

Your child’s youth certificate comes with a citizenship number located at the bottom left on the older version and the middle left on the newer version. If you are having trouble locating the number or cannot find your child’s youth certificate, call 1-833-MetisSK (1-833-638-4775), and we will look it up for you. 

My child is too young to have a citizenship card. Should I use my citizenship number? 

Though our draw is for youth 12 years and older, no child is too young to be registered with the MN–S. To win a prize, everyone entering the draw must have applied to the Provincial Citizenship Registry two weeks before the draw date. All children and youth need their own applications submitted. You can email info@mnsregistry.ca for more information on how to register your children. 

I made an error on my entry form (incorrect birthday, didn't select scholarship box etc.). Should I submit another entry? 

Do not submit additional entries. If your form was submitted with an error, please use the ‘contact us' form or call 1-833-MetisSK (1-833-638-4775), and we will adjust your information appropriately.
